Most well-known and loved is the Sóller train service that goes through the mountains and over the plain to Palma, and also links up with the local tram that goes through the orange groves to the Port of Sóller. The trains have been running since 1912, and still retain their original character.
There is a local taxi service as well as several bus routes:
From Sóller to Palma, via the tunnel if you are in a hurry, or along the more leisurely and beautiful coastal route through the neighbouring villages of Deià and Valldemossa.
From Sóller to the northern towns of Pollença, Alcudia and Ca'n Picafort, passing over the 'Puig Major', which at 1,445 metres is the highest mountain on the island, and calling at Lluc, the ancient monastery.
There is a boat service that connects the Port of Sóller with Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis.
