The "Carrer de sa Lluna" (Moon road) took its name fron the "Casa de sa Lluna" (Moon house), one of the oldest houses in Sóller, The road follows the course of a moorish water channel, and therefore is somewhat sinuous.
Nowadays the "carrer" is Sóller' most important shopping centre, and boasts a good selection of small shops that provide for all the necessities of the local people, as well as for visitors. From food and clothing to artistic and artisan products, you will find everything you need in the carrer de sa Lluna and its side-streets.
Saturday is the only day that the carrer de sa Lluna is closed to vehicles and one is able to wander around and do ones shopping in peace, it has a market-like feel with tables laden with goods in the middle of the road.
