Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences / Botanical Gardens of Sóller

The Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences in Sóller is dedicated to the study, conservation, and the divulgation of nature within the Balearic islands.It was founded in 1992 and is housed in a mansion that was built in 1900, 'el Camp d'en Prohom'. The Botanical Gardens of Sóller occupy what used to be the garden

Both the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences and Botanical Gardens in recent years have seen the realisation of investigatory projects in the fields of: biodiversity, conservation, vegetable reproduction, florsticology and corology of Balearic plants, faunisticology and taxonomy of invertebrates, geological mapping, and environmental documentation. There have also been several educational programmes which have proved to be vey popular.

Botanical Gardens of Sóller

AREA OF BALEARIC FLORA. Living collection of 350 Balearic species, especially endemic and rare species.
AREA OF FLORA FROM THE CANARY ISLANDS. Living collection of over 200 species from the Canaries, predominantly endemic with flora representing all the different zones of vegetation of these islands, also plants from the Canaries of Mediterranean origin.
