Born and brought up in Sweden, Studied for Bachelor of Arts at Cornell University, majoring in psychology.
Married John Ernest, painter and constructivist.
First child, Paul, born in New York city, spent altogether 6 years there.
Returned with family to Sweden and studied psychology at Gothenburg University.
Went with family to Paris, where their daughter Susan was born. Stayed two years there before going to London where she and her family stayed many years.
Did Post Graduate studies in clinical psychology, and was responsible for the psychological services at Westminster Hospital from 1955-1980.
In the 60's she wrote and published a cookery book, 'Cooking the Scandinavian Way' under the name Elna Adlerbert, for Hamlyn Press, London.
Divorced John Ernest in 1973.
Started her second career in painting, after retiring, in 1981. Studied drawing and painting at Camden Art Centre, London, for 5 years, and at the Academia de Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, where she spent two winters.
Travelled in Mexico, China, India, Egypt and other parts of Africa, as well as most European countries and Russia.
Since 1988 she lives and paints in Sóller and Palma de Mallorca.
Her work is represented in collections in Spain, England, Sweden, Germany, United States and Israel.
